About The Position

Experience the spine-chilling excitement as Busch Gardens Williamsburg celebrates over 25 years of Howl-O-Scream! Join our team to deliver terrifying chills and thrills as dusk descends and the creatures of the night awaken. This role involves performing in award-winning scare-event performances, maintaining creative integrity, and entertaining guests in various ways, including acting, costumed characters, or specialty talent. Performers must be able to embody characters through movement and vocalizations, work in challenging environments, and be comfortable with theatrical effects. Experience is not required, just a passion for Halloween!

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must attend a live audition.
• Be a team player and have a positive attitude.
• Outgoing performers who can tell a story through their performance.
• Must have great showmanship.
• Flexibility in schedule and availability for the duration of the event.
• Must attend any in-person audition.

Nice To Haves

• Opportunities for leadership roles (i.e. Performance Captain).
• Roles may be based on characteristics such as height, physical type, gender, and any other attribute that aligns with the creative vision for our Howl-O-Scream characters.

Responsibilities

• Provide top-notch quality product to our seasoned guests and first-time visitors.
• Be a part of award-winning Scare-event performances while maintaining creative integrity.
• Participate in all physical and vocal warmups and cool downs.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crawl, lay down, and/or jump up repeatedly for duration of shift.
• Must be able to work long sets (multiple hours) doing repetitive movement and vocalizations.
• Must be able to wear make-up and masks.
• Must be comfortable working in dark conditions, extreme temperatures, and around theatrical effects such as stage fog, lighting effects, and sound effects.
