About The Position

Florence House, one of Preble Street’s Housing First programs, provides comprehensive supportive services, shelter, and permanent housing for women 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Florence House has an available 1st shift, part-time Housing Support Staff position. These direct service position outreaches and engages with clients and tenants, participates in casework service provision, provide program coverage and maintain safety in program spaces, provides crisis intervention and support, and assists clients and tenants in meeting housing goals and maintaining housing stability.

Requirements

• Mental Health Support Specialist (MHSS) certification (required and can be obtained on the job/after hire)
• Strong communication skills
• De-escalation skills
• Crisis intervention skills
• Familiarity with community resources
• Ability to work with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Understanding of and alignment with Preble Street’s mission
• Positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty
