Florence House 3rd Shift Housing Support Staff
About The Position
Florence House, one of Preble Street’s Housing First programs, provides comprehensive supportive services, shelter, and permanent housing for women 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Florence House currently has an available 3rd shift Housing Support Staff position. This direct service position outreaches and engages with clients and tenants, participates in casework service provision, provides program coverage and maintains safety in program spaces, provides crisis intervention and support, and assists clients and tenants in meeting housing goals and maintaining housing stability. The schedule for this position is Saturday- Tuesday, 10:00 pm – 8:00 am.
Requirements
- Combination of work experience, education, and/or training likely to provide the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the work of the Housing Support Staff
- Understanding of and alignment with Preble Street’s mission
- Positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty
- Commitment to providing low-barrier services
- Mental Health Support Specialist (MHSS) certification (required and can be obtained on the job/after hire)
- Strong communication skills
- Strong de-escalation skills
- Strong crisis intervention skills
- Familiarity with community resources
- Ability to work with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Work during evening, overnight, and weekend hours
- Regular and consistent attendance
Responsibilities
- Outreaches and engages with clients and tenants
- Participates in casework service provision

- Remains awake for the duration of shifts
