About The Position

Help individuals and families find stability through housing. At Appleseed, we believe safe, stable housing is the foundation for recovery and success. As a Housing Specialist, you'll work directly with individuals and families experiencing housing instability, helping them navigate resources, overcome barriers, and achieve long-term housing stability. We're looking for a compassionate, organized, and motivated individual who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Requirements

Experience working in housing services, case management, social services, or community-based programs
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Ability to build positive relationships with clients, landlords, and community partners
Strong commitment to client advocacy and ethical practice
Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and active auto insurance
Ability to travel locally throughout the community
Successful completion of background check, driving record check, and drug screening

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of community resources and housing systems preferred
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, mental health, or substance use concerns
Associate degree with relevant experience
High School Diploma/GED with significant related experience

Responsibilities

Provide housing-focused case management services to individuals and families
Assist clients in locating and maintaining safe, affordable housing
Conduct housing assessments and develop individualized housing goals
Coordinate with landlords, housing authorities, courts, and community agencies
Connect clients to community resources and support services
Advocate on behalf of clients to reduce barriers to housing stability
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
Participate in community housing initiatives and collaborative projects
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in HMIS and other required systems
Monitor client progress and provide ongoing support
Attend team meetings and collaborate with agency staff to ensure quality services
