About The Position
OCES is growing and expanding its services to cover 11 more towns in the south shore area, including Quincy, Braintree, and Weymouth. OCES supports older adults and individuals with disabilities by providing vital information and coordination of services. The organization's mission is to promote healthy, safe living, allowing consumers to stay active and engaged in their communities. OCES seeks a dedicated and caring Housing Specialist to work within the community and on-site at Brockton area locations, ensuring services and support to residents.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in the human services field, preferably with the elder population.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
- Bilingual a plus; Haitian Creole or Cape Verde Creole is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review the needs of residents to link them with community programs and services.
- Serve as a multi-disciplinary assessment team leader and meet with the team to assure service coordination.
- Facilitate care conferences with residents, family, and other participants.
- Plan and coordinate social, educational, and recreational programs for residents.
- Prepare and distribute a newsletter to keep residents informed of planned activities.
