About The Position

The College of Medicine is seeking a Housing Project Coordinator to lead a comprehensive review of learner housing across the college, supporting rural medical education and the college's medical education expansion initiative. This role reports to the Vice Dean, Education, and will conduct an environmental scan of current housing resources, operational models, governance, partnerships, and processes for various learner programs including UGME, PGME, Family Medicine, MPAS, and SRS. The coordinator will collaborate with academic units, distributed communities, and external partners to identify areas for improvement in coordination, consistency, and sustainability of learner housing. The position will provide analysis and recommendations to inform future decision-making and support the college's long-term medical education expansion goals.

Requirements

An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Administration, Commerce, Planning or a related discipline is required.
Five or more years of progressively responsible experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Experience in business analysis, strategic planning, process improvement, organizational change or project management.
Experience facilitating cross-functional initiatives involving multiple organizations.
Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
Strong business analysis and process mapping abilities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience developing reports, business cases and recommendations for senior leadership.

Nice To Haves

Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Prosci Change Management certification or equivalent project management/business analysis training would be considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience within a post-secondary institution, healthcare environment or other complex public sector organization would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of distributed medical education or learner support services would be considered an asset.
Experience with project management and process mapping software would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Lead a comprehensive environmental scan of distributed learner housing across Saskatchewan.
Document current-state housing inventory, governance structures, funding models, operational processes and service delivery across UGME, PGME, MPAS, Family Medicine, SRS and other College units.
Identify gaps, risks, duplication and opportunities for integration and improvement.
Conduct business analysis to support evidence-informed recommendations.
Develop future-state model recommendations for learner housing coordination.
Prepare reports, briefing notes and recommendations for senior leadership.
Monitor trends and emerging issues affecting learner housing and distributed medical education.
Build collaborative relationships across UGME, PGME, MPAS, Family Medicine, SRS and other College units.
Establish productive working relationships with distributed communities, municipalities, housing providers, physician leaders and health system partners.
Facilitate discussions to identify local opportunities and challenges.
Act as the central point of contact for strategic learner housing initiatives.
Support collaborative problem solving among internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and maintain centralized housing information and reporting tools.
Support development of standardized housing processes and governance.
Coordinate collection and analysis of housing utilization data.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and service delivery.
Support the review and analysis of housing agreements, procurement approaches and contractual arrangements to inform future housing strategies and recommendations.
Contribute to long-term sustainability planning for distributed learner housing.
Undertake additional strategic initiatives related to medical education expansion, as assigned.
