About The Position

YouthLink is a recognized leader in the Twin Cities and beyond for our work to build pathways of opportunity for homeless youth and youth in crisis ages 16 – 24. Our model is based on providing support through outreach, handling basic needs, intervention, and aftercare. Our youth-focused team provides innovative, evidence-based services that guide youth on a holistic level toward futures of education, employment, health and wellness, housing stability and aftercare. We are looking for a Housing Prevention Specialist to join our team and help us advance our mission. As a Housing Prevention Specialist, you will be responsible for working closely with young adults to identify potential risks and create strategies to help them stay in their homes and obtain the necessary documentation that demonstrates their imminent risk of homelessness. This position will also complete all intakes and M-PAT assessment for clients and ensure that all necessary signatures and documentation (e.g., Grievance policy/procedure, HMIS release) are signed by the youth.

Requirements

  • 1- 2 years’ experience working with clients experiencing homelessness.
  • 1- 2 years’ experience with community engagement.
  • 1- 2 years’ experience with homeless prevention housing services.
  • 1- 2 years’ experience working with landlords.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and driving record that is acceptable to the company’s Vehicle Use policy.
