About The Position

The Department of Housing Services is recruiting for a Housing Inspector - Unit Eligibility Specialist to work within the Rental Assistance Division to bolster our work of providing housing stability in Washington County. The position will conduct initial inspections, re-inspections, and annual inspections of housing units in our rental assistance programs. Additional inspections will be conducted as needed. The Housing Authority of Washington County (HAWC) administers Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and local rental assistance programs that require inspections of subsidized units. Referenced inspections are to meet NSPIRE Standards.

Requirements

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year of work experience in building inspection, property management, building maintenance, or residential construction.
Must possess a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.
Must pass a criminal background check post-offer.

Possession or the ability to obtain within one (1) year, a professional certification through the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE).

Conduct initial inspections, re-inspections, and annual inspections of housing units in rental assistance programs.
Conduct additional inspections as needed.
