About The Position

Mental Health Kokua (MHK) is hiring a full-time Housing Custodian on Maui to support a Kauhale supportive housing program that values safety, cleanliness, and shared responsibility. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, functional, and respectful living environment for residents and staff. As a Housing Custodian, you will support adults living in shared housing by ensuring common areas, facilities, and outdoor spaces are clean, safe, and well maintained, helping promote stability and dignity in a home-like setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Dependability, attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently
• TB clearance and CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfortable working in a shared housing environment supporting adults living with mental health challenges
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years of custodial, janitorial, or building maintenance experience

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, hallways, bathrooms, dining areas, and common spaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floors using appropriate equipment
• Sanitize restrooms and restock soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
• Empty trash, replace liners, and maintain waste areas
• Replace light bulbs, clean fans, and assist with minor repairs
• Hose down driveways, walkways, and exterior areas on a regular schedule
• Stock custodial closets and report supply needs to supervisors
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to management
