About The Position

Chrysalis Center, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Housing Coordinator to oversee and administer Shelter Plus Care housing certificates and supportive housing activities. This position plays a critical role in helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness obtain and maintain stable housing while ensuring compliance with HUD and program regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience with supportive housing programs, landlord and tenant relations, housing inspections, and housing compliance requirements. This role works closely with program managers, case managers, landlords, community partners, and state agencies to support successful housing outcomes for participants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with supportive housing programs, landlord/tenant relations, housing compliance, or related human services programs.
  • Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) certification required.
  • Knowledge of HUD regulations, Shelter Plus Care programs, Fair Market Rent standards, and supportive housing models.
  • Experience using HMIS or similar data tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current registration, and insurance required.
  • Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer Shelter Plus Care housing certificates and related supportive housing activities.
  • Review, analyze, and process housing applications to ensure eligibility and compliance with HUD and program regulations.
  • Conduct annual and move-in/move-out housing inspections utilizing HUD guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Managers and Case Managers to maintain participant eligibility and program compliance.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with landlords, housing authorities, and local housing code enforcement agencies.
  • Coordinate lease-ups, re-certifications, and housing documentation.
  • Assist in resolving routine housing concerns and minor landlord/tenant disputes.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and data within HMIS and other tracking systems.
  • Assist with annual HUD reports and other required reporting activities.
  • Coordinate New Admission Forms and Change Orders for monthly rental payments through DMHAS.
  • Participate in statewide and regional supportive housing committees and collaborative meetings.
  • Assist with policy and procedure updates as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all agency policies, HIPAA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
