Our Arcadia Program in Red Deer is seeking a Full Time Housing Coordinator

Requirements

  • Diploma at minimum, preferred Degree directly related to Human Services
  • 1 year frontline human services experience, preferred 3 years experience with high-risk youth in either residential or outreach setting
  • Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
  • Knowledge of the CYFEA
  • Basic First Aid Level C with Adult, Child, and infant CPR &AED
  • Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training
  • Intervention Record & Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector
  • Class 5 driver’s license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for occasional client transportation required.
  • Strong documentation and assessment skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Culture considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Locate appropriate housing for clients.
  • Occasional mentorship/life skills teaching and program support
  • Access appropriate community support for clients; job skill development, drug counselling, legal assistance, health care, education support, financial support, support groups, etc.
  • Complete required paperwork for each youth (intake, orientation, surveys, permissions, etc.).
  • Take referrals for services and evaluate need and skill sets.
  • Work with external organizations to facilitate transitions and wraparound services.
  • Stay current on youth homelessness trends and extenuating factors.
