About The Position

This part-time clinician role may be the perfect fit for you! This rewarding opportunity provides direct care on Saturdays from 3:00 to 11:30 p.m. at our housing site in Pontoon Beach, IL. This role will provide client-centered and client-driven services in client homes (group setting) that will focus on community support in apartment, conflict resolution, symptom management, group services/outings, and more. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong commitment to helping individuals in need. Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and primary health care services. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and be a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) in good standing with the State of Illinois; OR have a Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology or related human service field; OR have a Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology or related human service field and be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC); OR have a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology or related human service field.
  • Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable (when applicable).
  • Basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.

Responsibilities

  • Stay on top of essential paperwork like assessments and recovery plans.
  • Ensure all treatment plans and assessments are ready before they are due.
  • Wrap up about 80% of progress notes within two days of meeting with a client.
  • Provide support tailored specifically to each client’s individual recovery and safety goals.
  • Manage a consistent schedule to meet productivity goals.
  • Handle behind-the-scenes details, like getting service approvals and checking on housing referrals.
  • Use a trauma-informed approach, leading with hope, respect, and empowerment.
  • Use positive, recovery-focused language in written notes and daily conversations.
  • Act as a bridge, linking clients to vital resources like housing and substance use treatment.
  • Work closely with teammates and the client’s support network.
  • Attend regular meetings to brainstorm ideas, back up teammates, and take on leadership opportunities.
  • Use proven, evidence-based methods in therapy sessions.
  • Provide services in the community or in environments where the client feels most comfortable.
  • Complete regular trainings, earn CEUs, and participate in clinical supervision.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
