About The Position

As a Housing Advocate, you'll work directly with survivors of domestic violence, providing transitional housing and rapid rehousing support that empowers clients to achieve long-term stability. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine advocacy, case management, community collaboration, and direct client support while making a lasting impact in your community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, human services, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of housing issues and community resources related to survivors of domestic violence preferred.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, victim advocacy, and issues impacting survivors preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel as needed for job duties.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Certified Domestic Abuse Advocate certification within the required timeframe.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Help survivors identify safe and stable housing options through Transitional Housing and Rapid Rehousing programs.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized service plans focused on housing stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Provide advocacy, support, referrals, and case management services in homes, community settings, and office environments.
  • Build relationships with landlords, housing authorities, and community partners to expand housing opportunities for clients.
  • Assist clients in navigating housing applications, financial assistance programs, and community resources.
  • Facilitate groups and educational classes that support independent living and long-term success.
  • Connect clients with counseling, employment, financial literacy, and other supportive services.
  • Respond to crisis line calls, conduct service assessments, and provide outreach support.
  • Collaborate closely with Domestic Violence Services team members to ensure coordinated, client-centered care.
