About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Administration & Occupancy Management, the Housing Assignment Analyst is responsible for making on-campus room assignments and maintaining accurate and current housing records for all on campus residents for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and as needed for Cal Maritime. This role involves assessing and identifying needs for the housing application system, providing ongoing professional feedback, and reviewing related processes. The specialist ensures students are assigned housing based on preferences, accommodation needs, and availability, and coordinates and evaluates housing assignments for special needs, programs, and requests. They collaborate and consult with departments such as the Disability Resource Center and EOP to manage residential space use and assignment priorities. Additionally, the role oversees summer housing assignment operations, supports special housing projects, and manages complex room changes and cancellations in the housing system, including associated system transactions and fee adjustments. The specialist also collaborates with campus partners to create, update, and review Housing License Agreements, terms and conditions, and addendums, translating university housing policies into practical procedures and developing training materials.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
  • Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
  • The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
