About The Position

Responsible for achieving and maintaining an exceptional level of cleanliness throughout the public areas of the hotel, spa, and meeting rooms. Maintains clean and attractive guest rooms and common areas in keeping with the organization’s cleanliness standards.

  • Manual and finger dexterity is required to perform duties and may involve standing, sitting, bending, kneeling for extended periods of time and will include reaching with arms and hands.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED desired.
  • Previous environmental cleaning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Approaches all guest encounters utilizing the Clearly Superior Customer Service standards.
  • Maintains clean, neat, and orderly appearance of public areas by cleaning furniture, polishing glass and mirrors, dusting and/or polishing elevators, planters, framed pictures, and other furniture located in the common areas of the hotel.
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, and polishes floors, hallways, and stairs; strips floors, waxes floors, shampoos and extracts dirt from carpets, keeping guests’ safety as a paramount concern (i.e., uses place cards to alert guest and personnel to potential slips and fall hazards).
  • Vacuums, sweeps, mops, and cleans carpet and flooring in the rooms and throughout the facility.
  • Routinely inspects work areas, identifying cleaning needs, potential safety hazards, problem or repair needs, and handling the same.
  • Dusts, brushes, polishes, cleans, and vacuums furniture, glass, mirrors, curtains, framed pictures, appliances, and other structural fixtures and furnishings in guest rooms.
  • Prepares beds, cleans restrooms, and replaces amenities.
  • Strips beds and collects dirty linens while following the organization’s bloodborne pathogen program.
  • Removes trash and dirty linens from public areas and guest rooms.
  • Stocks Room Attendant carts with an adequate supply of appropriate products.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of linens, cleaning chemicals, and amenity inventories, advising supervisor of recording needs as supplies get low; organizes shelves in the store rooms.
  • Delivers special requests from the Housekeeping Department to guest rooms, such as cribs, rollaway beds, extra linen, etc.
  • Loads and unloads laundry machinery and performs all stages of linen processing (sorting soiled and clean linen, etc.).
  • Attends all vendor and company training.
  • Cleans laundry machinery as necessary.
  • Assists in laundry inventories.
  • Effectively manages time in an effort to stay within the daily cleaning schedule.
  • Properly tags lost and found items and delivers them to the Housekeeping Office for storage.
  • May be required to assist with Room Attendant and Laundry Attendant duties depending on staffing levels.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all guests.
  • Reports all room damage immediately to the housekeeping supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
