About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Houseperson to support the cleanliness and overall presentation of The Seagate Hotel. This role is essential in maintaining public areas, assisting housekeeping operations, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. The ideal candidate thrives in a physically active role and takes pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness and organization across the property.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or hospitality support roles preferred
  • Ability to operate equipment such as high lift or automatic lifts preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Effective communication skills with a courteous and team-oriented approach
  • Ability to follow directions and respond promptly to operational requests
  • Friendly, positive attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push carts up to 250 pounds
  • Willingness to assist with furniture movement and physically demanding tasks

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, partitions, and floors
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, and towels in public and staff areas
  • Remove debris and trash from public spaces; sweep, vacuum, mop floors, and dust surfaces as needed
  • Support housekeeping team by stripping guest rooms of linens and transporting soiled items to laundry areas
  • Deliver and stock housekeeping supplies and distribute clean linens to designated storage areas
  • Clean and organize housekeeping closets on all floors, ensuring they remain fully stocked and sanitary
  • Assist with moving furniture and completing deep cleaning projects in guest rooms and public areas
  • Vacuum guest hallways daily or as needed to maintain cleanliness standards
  • Assist stewarding team with transporting items such as glassware when needed
  • Load and unload laundry trucks and assist with transporting linens between departments
  • Identify and report maintenance concerns, room repairs, and cleanliness issues to leadership promptly
  • Support special cleaning projects, including floor care and deep cleaning assignments
  • Follow all health and safety standards and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
