About The Position

The Houseperson maintains and cleans office spaces throughout the property and hotel public areas, keeps guest room halls clean, and ensures areas are free of safety hazards. The role delivers internal and external guest requests and transports linen between the loading dock, guestroom floors, laundry chute, and carts for laundering. The Houseperson informs Housekeeping Supervisors or the Manager of linen shortages and performs other duties assigned by a supervisor or member of management. The position requires a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when interacting with customers and fellow team members.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Good communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other team members.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, including using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram-form instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to talk or hear; stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. Occasionally required to climb or balance.
• Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds.
• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather, extreme cold or heat, and risk of electrical shock.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean office spaces throughout the property and hotel public areas.
• Ensure areas are free of safety hazards.
• Inform Housekeeping Supervisors or the Manager of any linen shortage.
• Maintain the cleanliness of guest room halls.
• Deliver internal and external guest requests.
• Interact with customers and fellow team members in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner.
• Transport linen from the loading dock to guestroom floors.
• Pull linen from the laundry chute and place it in carts to be sent out for laundering.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or member of management.
