About The Position

Houseperson maintains and cleans behind the scenes by helping the housekeepers; cleaning the hallways, floors, and doorways; and taking out the trash ensuring the hotel is kept clean, sanitized and well-stocked with amenities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee occasionally is required to sit.
• The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close distance color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Shampoo – carpet and chairs daily
• Clean guest corridors, landings and stairs.
• Vacuuming corridors.
• Clean light fixtures in all hallways.
• Clean and empty vacuums once a week.
• Linen distribution.
• Keep soiled linen and trash at a minimum on room attendant carts.
• Keep closets well supplied and well organized.
• Fill guest’s requests.
• Must follow safety procedures.
• Clean the vending area.
• Move furniture.
• Wash windows in guest rooms
