About The Position

The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of all public areas, lounges, lobbies, bathrooms, and hallways. This role involves performing various cleaning tasks, replenishing supplies, and providing prompt and courteous service to guests. The Houseperson also supports the Housekeeping team by assisting with linens, trash removal, and stocking closets, and performs daily housekeeping services in occupied and vacant guest rooms as needed to maintain service standards.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience working in a housekeeping environment.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
  • Must be proactive in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving issues as necessary.
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts including overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism in all interactions/situations.
  • Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Reliable and have a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to lift and carry upwards to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans public areas, lounges, lobbies, bathrooms, and hallways.
  • Vacuums and washes carpets and rugs.
  • Empties wastepaper baskets and ashtrays.
  • Transports trash to waste disposal equipment.
  • Dusts and polishes wooden surfaces and furniture.
  • Replenishes Housekeeping supplies in storage closets.
  • Maintains the required property uniform and ensures a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Responds courteously and efficiently to guest requests and service calls, delivering amenities, linens, towels, cribs, rollaway beds, and other requested items with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Supports the Housekeeping team by collecting and distributing linens, removing trash and soiled linen, stocking housekeeping closets, and assisting Room Attendants as needed.
  • Performs daily housekeeping service in occupied guest rooms and cleans vacant guest rooms as needed to support department operations and maintain service standards.
