About The Position

This is a temporary, full-time position designed to provide critical operational coverage for Sandpiper Hospitality (SH), a growing company in the extended stay market. The role involves light maintenance, room preparation, and ensuring the overall upkeep of the property. The initial term is expected to run through July 2026, with a potential transition to part-time hours or another full-time role within the property afterward. The position requires mechanical aptitude, physical dexterity, and the ability to work safely and independently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to operate light equipment (pressure washer, vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner).
  • Ability to operate and use hand and power tools properly and safely.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in daily work.
  • Ability to problem-solve in a timely manner.
  • Ability to respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other coworkers.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of light maintenance, facility engineering, or hotel housekeeping work.
  • Solid basic maintenance knowledge in Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, and Painting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform light and preventive maintenance across the facility interior and exterior, including light plumbing (plunging/snaking toilets, unclogging sinks), light electrical (changing outlets, switches, light bulbs), studio maintenance (painting, caulking, identifying pest issues), and general upkeep (shampooing carpet, janitorial work, parking lot upkeep).
  • Complete the guest room prep process according to brand standards after a move-out, including inspecting guest rooms for pest and maintenance issues and addressing them.
  • Clean all daily assigned public areas according to brand standards.
  • Stage guest room furniture, equipment, and in-room supplies to drive cleaning efficiency.
  • Remove all trash and complete stain treatment of soiled linens before removing them from the guest room.
  • Assist with sorting, washing, drying, and folding of company linen and terry.
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the laundry facilities.
  • Cross-train on the duties of the Move-Out Attendant and Stay-Over Attendant and perform those duties as requested.
  • Respond to emergencies as required, ensuring proper clock-in/out procedures are followed.
