About The Position

Responsible for assisting the housekeeping management with the successful overall coordination and direction of all activities of the Room Attendants in the Housekeeping Department, ensuring an exceptional standard of cleanliness is achieved and maintained in all guest rooms. Promotes an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests, encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees, by setting positive examples at all times. Instills an atmosphere that encourages employees to share ideas, discuss concerns and resolve conflicts. Retains employees through involvement in employee training and development. Explains why we do things, in advance of doing them.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six months prior housekeeping experience required.
  • Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
  • This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to in the Hotel Housekeeping Department on assigned shift.
  • Completes weekly work schedules to ensure that adequate staff is on duty to clean and maintain the rooms based on forecasted occupancy levels.
  • Assigns daily tasks for Inspectors, Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, and Porters.
  • Guides, supports and supervises Inspectors, Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, and Porters in the proper execution of their daily responsibilities.
  • Makes recommendations and suggestions to hire, promote, evaluate, reward, discipline and discharge of Inspectors, Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, and Porters.
  • Monitors computer system, in order to track room vacancies, for cleaning and maintenance purposes.
  • Takes responsibility for the security of a “Pass Key” during assigned shift, turning it in at the end of the shift to housekeeping management.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of linens, cleaning chemicals and amenity inventories, re-ordering and re-stocking when necessary.
  • Ensures that all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment are used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Properly tags lost and found items and calls security for pick-up.
  • Assists in the preparation of various daily, weekly and monthly reports, offering suggestions and recommendations, where appropriate, to improve productivity and cost-efficiency.
  • Assists with entry of payroll changes and approval of payroll for Inspectors, Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, and Porters.
