About The Position

The Jefferson Hotel, a prestigious property in Richmond, VA, is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our Housekeeping team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting daily housekeeping operations while actively assisting with guest room cleaning and maintaining the exceptional standards expected of a luxury property. The ideal candidate leads by example, works collaboratively with the team, and is passionate about delivering outstanding cleanliness, presentation, and guest service.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work any day or evening of the week, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
  • Several years of hospitality housekeeping experience required
  • Supervisory experience in a full-service hotel strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and support a team while maintaining high departmental standards.
  • This is an active working supervisor position that requires daily participation in guest room cleaning and housekeeping operations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead by example, in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance supervisory responsibilities with daily operational tasks
  • Basic computer proficiency: familiarity with housekeeping systems and Microsoft Office is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Clean and service guest rooms daily to support operational coverage and maintain luxury-level standards
  • Supervise housekeeping team members to ensure work is completed efficiently and with attention to detail
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance concerns
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to housekeeping staff
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and service needs
  • Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to support seamless hotel operations
  • Assist with inventory management and replenishment of housekeeping supplies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment while following all hotel safety and sanitation procedures
  • Support scheduling, daily reporting, and other operational tasks as assigned by department leadership
