About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and leadership of the entire housekeeping staff at a high-volume, full-service resort. This role ensures all hosts complete their assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner. Additionally, the Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring the cleanliness of all guest rooms and public spaces in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and operating philosophies of The Dollywood Company.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least 1-year experience in a hotel/hospitality supervisory position.
  • High school diploma required, or equivalent.
  • A work history that demonstrates supervisory skills to include verbal and written communication, leadership, planning, and organizing.
  • Basic computer knowledge and usage preferred.
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of onboarding process which includes background screening and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees.
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information.
  • Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Must be productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to act to meet their needs within company guidelines.
  • Must be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Housekeeping Manager/Executive Housekeeper to ensure that all housekeeping department hosts are completing assigned duties as required on a daily basis to provide the best possible guest experience.
  • Ensures all Room Inspectors are completing assigned tasks in a timely manner, assist as needed.
  • Motivates hosts through specific and individual praise, recognition, and appreciation.
  • Inspects the overall cleanliness of the public space areas and ensures quality standards are met and maintained.
  • Identifies and resolves quality problems.
  • Assists Housekeeping Manager/Executive Housekeeper in supervising housekeeping employees and ensuring that they are treated fairly and provided a positive work environment.
  • Follows company policies to handle any safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Evaluates systems, analyzes data, evaluates products and technology, and establishes quality control procedures.
  • Works with the Housekeeping Manager/Executive Housekeeper to manage the completion of the annual room’s deep clean process, ensuring that all work is completed and product is ready.
  • Ensures that proper maintenance is provided to extend the useful life of assets and the dependability of equipment.
  • Ensures that all work is completed in a safe manner and complies with the company safety program and all applicable federal, state, and local laws or regulations and industry standards.
  • Conducts departmental and on-the-job training of housekeeping staff.
  • Evaluates cleaning supplies; investigates cleaning product quality problems and recommends changes or improvements.
  • Monitors cleaning supplies, keeps inventory of supplies, and orders when necessary.
  • Performs special projects as needed.
  • Performs cleaning duties as needed in cases of emergency or staff shortages.
  • Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties.
