About The Position

Supervise the operations of the housekeeping staff promoting a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets and minimal expenses. Be familiar with and adhere to hotel brand standards and other policies / rules of conduct, to include personal appearance / grooming, attendance, and safe / efficient operations. Supervise the housekeeping staff; providing open communication, training, coaching, and counseling and providing performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency. Supervise and inspect the cleaning of the guest rooms, turndown service, public areas and back of the house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Issue supplies/goods to staff at beginning of shift to control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while controlling expenses. Issue daily housekeeping assignments by reviewing occupancy, special requests, VIP arrivals, and priority areas. Break the house by organizing and balancing room assignments; and prepare and distribute daily housekeeping boards to ensure an efficient workload, timely room turnover, and a smooth housekeeping operation. Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction. Maintain housekeeping records, including room status reports, key log, and inventory documentation. Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment. Implement emergency training and procedures to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel, guests, staff and company assets. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Perform any other job related duties as assigned. Communicates with the Front Office and Engineering Departments as needed regarding room and maintenance requests from the guests. Has complete working knowledge of software systems. Can perform all the housekeeping functions.

Requirements

  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and ability to work days, evenings or nights any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy environment and remain flexible.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must have a self-starting personality with an even disposition to effectively communicate with guests and staff.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy and financial management a must.
  • Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far.
  • Finger dexterity to type, to write, and work on a computer.
  • Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch arms overhead and lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.
