About The Position

Marriott Syracuse Downtown seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure staff of housekeeping department cleans and maintains guest rooms and public spaces in accordance with client/guest expectations and Crescent standards of product and service. This role involves overseeing the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, and contributing to a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Leadership skills, comfortable with training others.
• Understanding of the importance of listening with empathy and intent to co-workers.
• Working knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
• Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Adaptability to change in work area and hotel procedures.
• Willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
• Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever not sure how to do something.
• Flexible availability with the ability to work either day or evening shifts as needed.
• Experience inspecting rooms and supervising staff required.

• Bilingual (English & Spanish speaking) candidates highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff of room attendants, housepersons, and inspectors by conducting daily and monthly meetings, inspecting staff work and giving guidance so that deficiencies are corrected and standards are met.
• Train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline when appropriate.
• Inspection of cleaned guest rooms, turndown service, public areas, and back of house; ensure compliance with accidents/loss prevention programs and health/sanitation.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
