About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of the housekeeping staff, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and safety. This role involves overseeing daily cleaning operations and assisting in the administration of housekeeping services in compliance with policies, procedures, and brand standards. The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and other spaces are clean, well-maintained, and meet the hotel's cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Ability to follow basic safety precautions and use protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Schooling in hospitality management, business, or related experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in hiring, training, and supervising housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housekeepers, and janitors.
  • Suggest work schedules and assign tasks to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and customer service.
  • Provide feedback to staff on work performance and address employee issues or conflicts.
  • Inspect guest rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards.
  • Identify and address maintenance and repair needs within guest rooms and public spaces.
  • Monitor the use of cleaning supplies and equipment for cost efficiency.
  • Handle and promptly resolve guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping services.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure staff use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and ensure hotel cleanliness and hygiene standards meet legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments (e.g., front desk, maintenance) to coordinate guest services and maintenance requests.
  • Communicate with hotel management to provide updates on housekeeping operations and address concerns.
