This position is responsible for cleaning patient care areas, surgical areas, public/private restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators, and stairwells. The role involves cleaning all environmental surfaces including ceilings and vents, walls, doors, furniture, beds, bathroom fixtures, and windows. The Housekeeper will also assist in cleaning emergency spills, dust and damp mop floors, replace cubicle and window coverings, and gather and dispose of recyclables, trash, and medical waste, including hazardous trash following infection control guidelines. Additionally, the role includes sorting, stocking, and delivering linens, gathering and preparing soiled linen for transportation, cleaning and preparing dismissal and transfer units, and distributing non-medical supplies. The Housekeeper will also fill and clean supply dispensers, inventory linens, cleaning supplies, and paper supplies, and keep the housekeeping closet organized and clean. Reporting any mechanical failures or unsafe conditions to the supervisor is also a key responsibility.
