About The Position

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining resident rooms, common areas, and facility spaces to meet health, safety, and sanitation standards—especially important in healthcare settings.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and products
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Physical stamina (standing, bending, lifting, pushing carts)
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassion and patience when working around elderly or ill residents

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize resident rooms (beds, furniture, bathrooms, floors)
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces (doorknobs, handrails, light switches)
  • Empty trash and dispose of waste properly, including medical waste (following protocols)
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
  • Replenish supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.)
  • Clean common areas like dining rooms, hallways, lounges, and offices
  • Follow infection control procedures to prevent spread of illness
  • Handle laundry duties (washing, drying, folding linens and clothing) if required
  • Report maintenance or safety issues (leaks, broken equipment, hazards)
  • Interact respectfully with elderly residents and maintain privacy and dignity
