About The Position

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping and laundry operations, including staffing, scheduling, quality control, and inventory management. This role ensures guest rooms and public areas consistently meet Hilton brand standards while maintaining efficient labor management and operational execution. The Housekeeping Manager drives accountability across the department, manages costs, and fosters a positive and performance-driven team environment to deliver exceptional guest service and cleanliness standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping leadership experience required
  • Strong understanding of labor management, productivity standards, and hotel operations
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the property as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on occupancy and business demand, managing productivity and labor efficiency in alignment with budget and labor models
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for all housekeeping and laundry positions
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing plans, and departmental organization to support daily operations and forecasted demand
  • Supervise housekeeping and laundry teams, providing training, coaching, and performance management
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards
  • Ensure all rooms meet “Ready for Arrival” standards prior to release in the PMS
  • Maintain real-time communication with the front desk regarding room status, arrivals, departures, and special requests
  • Coordinate VIP arrivals, group blocks, and special accommodations to ensure seamless execution
  • Manage departmental budgets, including labor, supplies, and linen inventory, while controlling costs and minimizing waste
  • Ensure proper use of equipment, chemicals, and cleaning procedures in accordance with safety and brand standards
  • Lead and enforce safety, sanitation, and compliance protocols across all housekeeping operations
  • Maintain clear communication within the department through daily briefings, boards, and shift logs
  • Partner with Engineering on preventative maintenance, deep cleaning programs, and ongoing property upkeep
  • Monitor and respond to guest feedback, service issues, and recovery situations related to housekeeping
  • Maintain Lost and Found procedures, ensuring accurate logging, secure storage, and timely return of items
  • Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, operational efficiency, and quality standards
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence on the floor to support the team and ensure execution of standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager
