About The Position

The Housekeeping Manager (Band 3 MKRS) is responsible for supervising and inspecting the cleaning of residences, MKRS offices, company vehicles, and the Kauna’oa recreational center. This role involves training and counseling employees to ensure adherence to established standard operating procedures and hotel policies. The manager will communicate effectively with homeowners, property managers, and other departments to meet or exceed guest needs. Key duties include managing office operations, processing daily cleaning assignments, handling emails and phone calls, monitoring daily functions, conducting safety training, ordering supplies, supervising employees, resolving guest concerns, certifying guest accommodations, prioritizing tasks, conducting employee evaluations, processing work schedules and payroll, and assisting with forecasting and budget processes. Other duties include conducting department meetings, maintaining the lost and found system, managing department bulletin boards, reporting maintenance needs, and assisting with cleaning services when necessary.

Requirements

  • Computer literate, preferably Microsoft Windows, KRONOS, Workforce, OnTrack, Aestevia, Outlook.
  • Duties require reading, understanding and following written instructions.
  • Duties require communications skills, conducting meetings and presentations such as power point.
  • Duties require math skills, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Utilizing excel spreadsheets with formulas.
  • Knowledge in cleaning methods, materials, chemicals, sanitation practices and best practices.
  • Three years or more work related experience.
  • Skills to effectively supervise employees
  • Ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • CPR, First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, inspect the cleaning of residences, MKRS offices, company vehicles, Kauna’oa recreational center.
  • Train and counsel employees to insure that all areas of responsibility operate in accordance to established standard operating procedure and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with home owners, property managers and other departments to insure all of the needs or the guests are met or exceeded.
  • Manage office operations.
  • Process daily cleaning assignments.
  • Manage emails & phone calls.
  • Train, counsel, discipline and evaluate employees to insure proper standards are met.
  • Monitor daily functions to ensure all areas are cleaned and maintained according to resort standards.
  • Conduct safety training and Standard Operating Procedures and ensure standards are maintained and safety procedures followed.
  • Assist with ordering operating supplies such as cleaning supplies, chemicals, paper supplies, uniforms, equipment, safety check and registrations.
  • Supervise employees following resort policies, procedures and the terms and conditions of the CBA.
  • Respond and resolve Housekeeping concerns from guests or other departments in a timely manner.
  • Assist Executive Housekeeper and Assistant with daily assignments.
  • Certify guest accommodations for occupancy; oversee special assignments.
  • Prioritize daily tasks and work assignments for the department, including demand scheduling.
  • Conduct employee evaluations.
  • Process weekly work schedules.
  • Manage department payroll.
  • Assist with forecasting and budget process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Conduct regular department meetings, briefings and attend hotel meetings.
  • Maintain resort’s lost and found system.
  • Maintain department bulletin boards.
  • Report items in guest rooms or hotel building in need of repair or maintenance.
  • Assist in cleaning or other housekeeping services when needed.
