About The Position

The Housekeeping Manager at Canyon Lodge and Cabins in Yellowstone National Park oversees a team responsible for maintaining cleanliness and guest satisfaction across more than 500 rooms and cabins. This role involves supervising staff, scheduling shifts, training new employees, and ensuring compliance with cleaning standards and chemical safety protocols. The manager also resolves guest issues, conducts inspections, and collaborates with Operations Managers to maintain the facility's high standards during its operational season from mid-July through early October.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Previous management or supervisory experience
Knowledge of Computer programs such as MS Outlook
Knowledge of products used and chemical safety relating to housekeeping
Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
Making beds, bending, kneeling, stretching as needed
Standing for long periods of time and walking up in down stairs as well as outdoors
Pushing or pulling a housekeeping cart up to 75 lbs

Responsibilities

Provide an attractive and clean facility for guest rooms and all public areas, including offices, linen closets, and supply closets, and other areas designated to be maintained by the Lodging Department; ensure they are maintained to the standard as trained.
Resolve guest problems skillfully with a willingness and desire to understand a guest’s viewpoint and to take necessary steps so that the guest is satisfied when they leave.
Ensure all housekeeping employees comply with the correct use of chemicals and equipment as trained.
Regulate shift coverage for optimum effectiveness by scheduling staff according to business levels and labor standards.
Assist in the training of new employees, especially during the spring opening phase. This will include Room Attendants, Inspectors, Porters, Linen Truck Drivers, and Office Assistants.
Supervise the Rooms Inspector staff with the Assistant, daily morning meetings, making inspections together, and identifying and providing challenges for those with managerial potential.
Other duties assigned by Operations Managers on-site.
