About The Position

The Housekeeping - Laundry Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our facility by expertly managing all laundry operations. This position ensures that all linens, clothing and other washable items are cleaned, dried, folded, and distributed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The technician will operate and maintain laundry equipment, troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, and adhere to safety and sanitation protocols. By managing inventory and coordinating with housekeeping staff, this role supports the overall guest experience and operational flow. Ultimately, the Laundry Technician contributes to a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for both Resident/Members and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a commercial laundry or housekeeping environment.
  • Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment safely.
  • Basic understanding of laundry chemicals and fabric care.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Physical stamina and attention to detail are essential for handling heavy loads and inspecting items for quality.
  • Communication skills facilitate smooth coordination with housekeeping staff to meet linen demands promptly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inventory management and supply ordering.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to laundry operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial laundry machines including washers, dryers, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, towels, uniforms, and other textiles according to established procedures.
  • Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to management for replacement or repair.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and workspaces.
  • Monitor laundry supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist housekeeping staff with linen requests and special laundry needs as required.
  • Document daily laundry activities and machine maintenance logs accurately.
