About The Position

The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor leads housekeeping and laundry operations, staff, and resources to maintain a safe, sanitary environment. The role oversees staff hiring, training, evaluation, and performance; develops cleaning systems and conducts inspections; manages supplies, equipment maintenance, and departmental budgeting; and supports regulatory compliance and quality improvement. The position requires an associate degree or equivalent relevant education and experience, at least three years of supervisory experience (preferably in environmental services at a skilled nursing facility), mathematical proficiency, familiarity with infection control techniques, and knowledge of applicable environmental services regulations and standards.

Requirements

Associate degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
At least three years of supervisory experience, preferably in environmental services at a skilled nursing facility.
Proficiency in mathematical skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure and computing rates, ratios, and percentages.
Familiarity with infection control techniques.
Knowledge of regulatory agencies, policies, codes, standards, and regulations relevant to environmental services.

Responsibilities

Hire, train, evaluate, and manage housekeeping and laundry staff.
Ensure staff follow performance standards and provide guidance to maximize their effectiveness.
Develop cleaning systems and conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
Manage supply procurement, equipment maintenance, and departmental budgeting.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations.
Participate in quality improvement programs and facility committees to enhance environmental services.
