About The Position

Our Housekeeping/Laundry Aides perform cleaning operations designed to keep the Home in a clean, neat and tidy condition at all times and in accordance with established preventative maintenance and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, dusting, mopping cleaning walls/floors/windows/doors, maintaining carpets, cleaning resident living corridors and washrooms, all while working in a manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by the County of Elgin and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

Requirements

• Good communication skills
• Experience in institutional housekeeping preferred
• Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening that is satisfactory to the County of Elgin.
• Satisfactory 2-step Tuberculosis (TB) screening documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning operations to maintain the facility in a clean, neat, and tidy condition.
• Dusting, mopping, and cleaning walls, floors, windows, and doors.
• Maintain carpets.
• Clean resident living corridors and washrooms.
• Work in accordance with required protective devices, measures, and procedures as mandated by the County of Elgin and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
