Requirements

  • Constantly pushing loaded supply cart from room to room – must be able to push 75 lbs.
  • Arranging drapery and replacement linen – approximately 20 – 30 lbs.
  • Carrying dirty linen to laundry chute, operating vacuum.
  • Constant bending and kneeling to clean bathroom, vanity and making beds. Dusting requires bending to reach low areas on furniture.
  • Movement to reach all areas of responsibility to include: closet shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, under beds, behind furniture.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Continuously standing and/or walking to accomplish all that is required for position.
  • Climbing stairs up to approximately 40 steps approximately 10% of work period (usually 8 hour work period).
  • Inside 100% of work period (usually 8 hours).
  • Hearing is minimal (Guest approaches with requests and questions).
  • Vision is critical (To assess required reaction to meet standards).
  • Speech is minimal (Can utilize alternate communication).
  • Literacy is minimal (Can utilize alternate training tools).
  • Standard cleaning chemicals.
  • Safety shoes required 100% of approximate 8 hour work period.
  • Gloves approximately 20% of approximate 8 hour work period.
  • Goggles approximately 3% of approximate 8 hour work period.
  • Vacuum cleaner.
  • Other cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly inspects guest rooms, public areas and other hotel spaces for cleanliness, organization, and maintenance.
  • Assist cleaning when necessary.
  • Assigns special assignments as directed by the Director of Housekeeping/Management team.
  • Check for and report maintenance issues, such as problems with equipment, plumbing or structure.
  • Verify that rooms meet brand and hotel standards and ensure all items, like linens and amenities, are correctly placed.
  • Ensures that all associates have appropriate supplies and linens.
  • Assists in processing AM and PM room status reports.
  • Ensure that the GRA's linen cart is neat and well organized.
  • Ensure that linen closets on guest room floors are completely stocked.
  • Opening and/or Closing procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of linen and cleaning supplies/equipment.
  • Update room status in property management system.
  • Training and coach housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures and proper use of equipment.
  • Assist in developing and training associates to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Performs MOS audits.
  • Assign daily tasks and oversee the progress of room attendants.
  • Contributes to monthly OST meetings.
  • Resolve guest complaints and special requests.
  • Communicate with maintenance to address repair needs.
  • Communicate with leadership about patterns or recurring issues observed during inspections.
