About The Position

The Oasis at Death Valley is seeking a Housekeeping Inspector to join their team. This role involves inspecting guest rooms daily to ensure they meet cleanliness and quality standards, as set by the Housekeeping Manager. The Oasis at Death Valley is located in a unique desert oasis within Death Valley National Park, operating historic hotels, restaurants, and a golf course. This position offers an opportunity to live, work, and explore in a remarkable natural environment.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months to 1-year previous customer service experience.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Prior experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel, resort, or healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must adhere to grooming standards.
  • Must adhere to all OSHA and company guidelines when using cleaning materials.
  • Must be available for AM and PM Inspector shifts.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, push, pull, kneel, lift and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Guest Room Attendants and Housepersons to ensure maximum productivity and cleanliness.
  • Inspects assigned guest rooms (checkout and stay-over) for cleanliness and condition, providing coaching and reporting issues to the housekeeping manager.
  • Inspects assigned hallways and public areas, providing coaching and reporting issues to the housekeeping manager.
  • Inspects and restocks supply closets, communicating amenity needs for ordering.
  • Reports occupancy statuses for assigned section to PBX and housekeeping manager.
  • Uses in-room phone system to update room statuses promptly.
  • Utilizes computer systems to ensure accuracy of room statuses.
  • Immediately reports maintenance concerns to Engineering and Housekeeping Manager and adjusts room availability.
  • Immediately reports and turns in all lost and found items to Fire, Life, and Safety.
  • Cleans guest rooms, public areas, administrative offices, and restrooms when necessary.
  • Checks Out of Order rooms to ensure MRs are complete.
  • Trains new employees and provides retraining as needed.
  • Communicates with housekeeping management to assign rooms for deep cleaning.
  • Maintains a Master sheet for projects and ensures timely completion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by housekeeping management.
