About The Position

The Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of guest corridors, elevators and all assigned areas along with properly distributing and collecting linens, supplies and trash. This position is also responsible for promptly responding to requests from other departments and guests, which may include delivering items to guest rooms. The schedule for this position is 8am-4:30pm, with varying days of the week and weekends. The starting rate for this position is $17.00/hour.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests and fellow employees.
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees and self.
  • Be familiar with correct guestroom cleaning procedures to assist with cleaning, if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of guest corridors, elevators, and all assigned areas.
  • Properly distributing and collecting linens, supplies, and trash.
  • Promptly responding to requests from other departments and guests, including delivering items to guest rooms.
  • Walking assigned floors at the beginning and end of the shift to remove papers, trays, dishes, trash, and linens, and noting areas needing immediate cleaning.
  • Using a daily checklist to complete cleaning tasks in assigned areas such as elevator lobbies, trash cans, glass tables, furniture, ice machines/vending areas, elevator doors/frames, service landings/linen closets, and stairwells.
  • Vacuuming and/or mopping hard floors.
  • Handling 'Lost and Found' items according to Q Center standards.
  • Reporting maintenance issues.
  • Assisting with cleaning guest rooms if needed.
  • Picking up dirty linen or trash from Room Attendants as needed.
  • Collecting and disposing of trash from service landings into outside dumpsters.
  • Vacuuming guest corridors.
  • Delivering guest amenities to rooms within 20 minutes.
  • Assisting Housekeeping as needed by delivering bed boards, roll-aways, refrigerators, irons, coffee, etc.
  • Delivering clean linen and supplies to assigned sections.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of breakrooms, linen rooms, storage closets, dock areas, and stairwells.
  • Ensuring overall guest satisfaction.
