About The Position

Kenly 95 Petro is hiring an experienced janitor to help maintain clean, comfortable, and safe facilities for travelers and team members. This on-site role works the 8 AM to 4 PM shift and supports the company’s cleanliness and customer-service standards across public and employee-only spaces. The position is part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team at the largest truck stop on the East Coast. The company is family-owned and operated and has been in business since 1964.

Employees are required to complete a pre-employment drug test and background check and may be subject to random drug testing. The company is unable to sponsor a visa. Starting pay is $14 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional janitorial or commercial cleaning experience.
• Ability to use industrial cleaning tools and equipment, such as buffers and commercial vacuums.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong time-management skills.
• A proactive, customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and reaching throughout the shift.
• Reliable availability for the 8 AM to 4 PM shift, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in high-traffic areas, including restrooms, dining spaces, and retail areas.
• Thoroughly sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, and fixtures.
• Dust and clean surfaces in public and employee-only areas.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
• Promptly report maintenance concerns, such as leaky faucets or faulty fixtures, to management.
• Perform light maintenance tasks, including replacing lightbulbs and tightening loose fixtures.
• Handle cleaning products and equipment safely and follow health and safety protocols.
• Keep walkways and high-traffic areas free of hazards by promptly addressing spills and debris.
• Secure and lock cleaning closets, supplies, and assigned areas at the end of the shift.
• Respond positively and professionally to special cleaning needs during the shift.
• Support setup or cleanup for events and other activities.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain service and cleanliness standards.
