About The Position

This is a full-time Housekeeping Attendant/Floor Tech position with a night shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. The role involves cleaning assigned areas, including furniture, tile, fixtures, walls, doors, and windows, as well as stripping and making patient beds. Responsibilities also include floor care such as stripping, applying floor finish, polishing, sweeping, mopping, and carpet cleaning. The attendant will clean in outpatient and sterile processing areas, manage waste collection (including hazardous waste), and operate various cleaning equipment. They will also be responsible for arranging furniture for meetings and events, and may need to climb ladders for cleaning high areas. The position requires successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.

Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds and be mobile.
Ability to read and understand simple verbal and written instructions.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment.
Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.

Nice To Haves

Experience with floor cleaning equipment and ability to strip and refinish floors and clean carpets.

Responsibilities

Cleans assigned areas by washing furniture, tile, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions.
Cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, televisions, and windows; strips and makes patient beds.
Strips and applies floor finish and polishes floors; sweeps and mops floor areas, vacuums and cleans carpets, using appropriate solutions, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area.
Cleans in outpatient and sterile processing using proper cleaning solutions and as prescribed by departmental procedures.
Thoroughly completes all procedures scheduled during the shift without sacrificing the quality of work. Completes work left from previous work shifts and reports all incomplete assignments to ensure continuity of procedures.
Collects waste from all areas of hospital and sanitizes all waste cans. Collects soiled linen. Collects hazardous waste as established by Infection Control Committee.
Operates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical, i.e. buffers, wringers, scrubbers, vacuums. Cleans equipment and notifies supervisor of equipment needing repair. Reports safety hazards to supervisor.
Climbs ladder to hang cubicles, window drapes, or reach high areas for other cleaning purposes.
Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs.
