About The Position

Legends Global is seeking Part-Time Housekeeper / Set-Up Team Members for the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland. The role involves cleaning, maintaining, and preparing the facility for events and daily operations to high standards. Responsibilities include setting up and taking down event equipment, general cleaning, preventative maintenance, and operating various machinery. This is a full-time, second shift position (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) with a starting pay of $18.75/HR.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Familiar with basic cleaning products, tools, and housekeeping practices.
  • Maintain a driver's license or have willingness and ability to obtain one for required equipment operation.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate via radio.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ability to perform routine and repetitive housekeeping and certain event set-up tasks without immediate supervision.
  • Ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
  • Ability to operate various cleaning machines and equipment within the Center.
  • Ability to work both as a part of a team and independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, which could include evenings/nights, holidays, and weekends as dictated by event activity.
  • Candidates must be available to work weekends; all assigned shifts will be structured accordingly.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • 6 months' experience within housekeeping or custodial, preferred.
  • Experience in a similar facility setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various event-related tasks efficiently before, during, and after events, including setting/striking tables, chairs, staging, air walls, barricades, pipe and drape, dance floor, and other event-related inventory.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, vacuum, clean all surfaces, empty trash, and operate trash and recycling compactors as directed.
  • Clean, dust, and maintain various areas throughout the Facility.
  • Keep Supervisor and Manager informed on the status of work and reviews work orders and completes tasks as assigned within the time period provided.
  • Maintain supply rooms and equipment in an orderly fashion and uses equipment and supplies as instructed.
  • Assist with the proper storage of all event-related equipment as directed.
  • Assist with the cleaning and minor maintenance of all cleaning and housekeeping machinery and equipment.
  • Perform deep cleaning and housekeeping projects throughout the Center, such as carpet extraction, floor stripping, sanitization, waste removal, window cleaning, bathroom cleaning, and other projects as directed.
  • Report damages to equipment in a timely manner to Supervisor.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work on equipment, storage rooms, and other areas of the Facility as directed.
  • Maintain inventory logs and department checklists as directed.
  • Maintain good and effective relationships with staff.
  • Adhere to all Facility rules, regulations, safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform tasks related to the handling of mail and/or other deliveries to our loading dock area as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
