About The Position
Corning Hospital is seeking a per diem housekeeper to join our dedicated Environmental Services team. This role is vital in creating a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, families, and staff, directly supporting the mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The Housekeeper ensures a clean, safe, and aseptic environment across inpatient, outpatient, and office areas by performing cleaning, disinfection, waste handling, and equipment maintenance while delivering exceptional customer service.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of grammar school.
- Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
Responsibilities
- Maintains cleanliness and appearance in all areas of the hospital facility by following department policies and procedures utilizing the proper chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- May be responsible for transporting hazardous, regulated, and non-regulated waste to designated areas.
- Movement of light equipment and furniture.
- Collection and delivery of soiled and clean linen.
- Assists in the orientation of new employees.
- Calculates total monies received and compiles daily register reports.
- Provides excellent customer service to all contacts.
- Recognizes and reports potential problems to the supervisor or nursing manager on the floor.
