About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy patient care environment. The role performs cleaning, sanitation, and custodial work throughout the facility, follows infection control measures, maintains cleaning supplies and equipment, and prepares rooms for meetings and facility functions. Additional duties may be assigned, and management may add or remove duties as circumstances require.

A high school diploma or equivalent and prior housekeeping experience in a commercial, clinical, or healthcare environment are preferred. A valid state driver's license is required where applicable. CPR and de-escalation and restraint certifications are required; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility. First aid may be required depending on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and custodial tasks to maintain the facility's general upkeep, sanitation, and cleanliness.
• Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies using appropriate cleaning processes and germicides.
• Move and arrange furniture; turn mattresses; clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware; and sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors as needed.
• Launder soiled linens as directed.
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies for department or unit use and stock supplies as needed.
• Clean and store equipment and supplies properly after each shift.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functions.
• Follow all infection control measures.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
