About The Position
Western Nebraska Veterans Home is seeking an individual to work in a beautiful long-term care facility and maintain high standards of sanitation required in a healthcare environment. Full-Time shifts are available, and shifts are dependent on current vacancies. The schedule is set, with work every other weekend, and 8-hour shifts from 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. The starting pay is $16.892 per hour, with an additional $3/hour differential for every hour worked, totaling $19.892 per hour.
Requirements
- No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Knowledge of facility standards of sanitation and cleaning procedures.
- Ability to follow written oral instructions.
- Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment, and mix cleaning solutions in proper proportions.
- Ability to operate heavy commercial cleaning equipment.
- Ability to move/lift up to 75 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge and cleaning experience in commercial business, hospital, medical building or long-term care facility.
- Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
Responsibilities
- Clean members’ rooms, restrooms and facility offices to include walls, windows, and ceilings.
- Remove laundry from living areas; may assist with delivery of clean linen and personals to resident's rooms.
- Empty trash containers.
- Carpet care including vacuuming, spot removal & shampooing and perform other floor cleaning duties.
- Mop, and other duties as assigned.
- Clean and disinfect bathroom fixtures, furniture and floors using disinfectants and chemicals.
- Wash walls, windows, and ceilings.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, and refinish, wax, and polish floor surfaces.
- Empty containers, replace liners, remove trash from buildings.
- Clean public areas to ensure high standards of sanitation and safety.
- Remove and wash/launders soiled rags, mop heads, and cleaning items as needed.
