About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring Housekeepers at Maple Ridge of Essex. This is a full-time position with a wage band of $19.00 - $22.00 per hour based on years of experience. The role requires appropriate training and/or background in a similar setting, and responsibilities must be conducted in a professional and ethical manner reflecting LCB’s values. The Housekeeper is responsible for thoroughly cleaning residents' rooms and common areas, including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, and disinfecting. This includes discarding waste, maintaining housekeeping carts, and performing general housekeeping duties as needed. The position also involves attending required in-service training and orientations, washing and folding linens, and potentially assisting with other roles when needed.

Requirements

  • Must have appropriate training and/or background in a similar setting.
  • Must be able to properly clean residents' rooms and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, disinfecting, etc.
  • Discards waste into proper containers and assists with any general housekeeping duties necessary.
  • The ability to maintain a clean and neat environment is required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices and substances is required.
  • The ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards is required.
  • The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing is required.
  • Requires frequent lifting, bending, stretching, kneeling and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) lbs., and be able to carry objects.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand.
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
  • Must use good body mechanics.
  • Must be able to use cleaning equipment, such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, buffers, and chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks with consideration for residents, visitors, and any worker in the area.
  • Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided.
  • Associate may be subject to potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, and to handling hazardous chemicals (either Category 1 or 2).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous housekeeping experience in health care or hospitality setting is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly cleaning the bathrooms; toilet, vanity, sink, shower, shower seat and floor with cleaning solution.
  • Cleans kitchen areas completely; wipes counters and under objects, mops kitchen floors.
  • Empty wastebaskets and replace bags.
  • Dusting and polishing all surfaces.
  • Wipe off all surfaces; windowsills, woodwork and counters.
  • Cleaning carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting, etc.
  • Cleaning all common areas and common bathrooms on a daily basis, and as often as needed.
  • Maintains housekeeping carts in clean, orderly manner.
  • Removing, folding and returning bed linens.
  • Wash and fold linens.
  • Cleans and washes windows
  • Cleans and dusts blinds
  • General pick-up outside as needed.
