About The Position

Distinctive Living is seeking a Part-time Weekend Housekeeper for their Mira Vie at Bridgewater, NJ community. This role is responsible for housekeeping and laundry functions within the community, including cleaning apartments and common areas, providing laundry services, carpet care, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to communicate verbally in person and over the phone.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic apartment cleaning of bathroom fixtures and floors, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, making beds, and cleaning toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors, and floors, while respecting residents' belongings and privacy.
  • Change residents' bedding and linens weekly, with options for more frequent changes for an additional fee.
  • Maintain adequate linen inventory to accommodate weekly changes and laundry schedules.
  • Interact with residents in a friendly manner, providing meaningful attention and communicating any health concerns to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all common areas, including entryways, reception, corridors, bathrooms, activity rooms, and dining rooms, by vacuuming carpets, dusting, washing windows, and straightening furniture.
  • Clean floors by sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
  • Set up and remove caution and safety signs as needed to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
  • Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Clean public restrooms by washing, sanitizing, and polishing fixtures, ensuring water marks are removed.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Handle hazardous cleaning supplies according to proper procedures and ensure accurate labeling.
  • Attend in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
  • Respond appropriately to resident emergencies by contacting appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Assist with disaster management efforts and activities during evacuations.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, federal, and licensing rules and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and labor laws.
  • Work in a safe manner and report unsafe actions to the Executive Director.
  • Comply with Safety Committee Standards and follow procedures for workplace injuries.
  • Foster teamwork, show initiative, assist others, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
  • Develop basic knowledge of the organization to answer basic questions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
