About The Position

The Housekeeper provides cleaning services to maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and the public. Services must follow facility policies and procedures and comply with state and federal laws and regulations, supporting residents’ quality of life. On-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

• No minimum experience required; on-the-job training is provided.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, damp mop, and wet mop tile floors; occasionally spray buff, strip, or wax floors according to center procedures, including using wet-floor signs.
• Vacuum carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empty trash cans, clean their interiors and exteriors, and replace liners.
• Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets according to center procedures.
• Clean glass surfaces, including mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Clean behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follow infection-control standards while cleaning.
• Prevent or remove wax and dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Change soiled privacy curtains and outside-window draperies as needed.
• Remove and re-hang outside-window curtains and draperies using a ladder.
• Dust and damp-clean surfaces in patient or resident rooms, including furniture, bed frames, and windowsills, according to center procedures; use wet-floor signs as applicable.
• Move furniture to clean behind and underneath it according to center procedures.
• Turn bed mattresses after cleaning.
