About The Position

Provides cleaning services to maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and the public. Housekeeping services must follow facility policies and procedures and comply with state and federal laws and regulations, helping enhance residents’ quality of life.

Requirements

• No minimum experience required; on-the-job training is provided.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in healthcare housekeeping or environmental services.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, damp mop, and wet mop tile floors; occasionally spray buff, strip, or wax floors according to center procedures, including using wet-floor signs.
• Vacuum carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empty trash cans, clean their interiors and exteriors, and replace liners.
• Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets according to center procedures.
• Clean glass surfaces, including mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Clean behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follow infection-control standards while cleaning.
• Prevent or remove wax and dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Change soiled privacy curtains and outside-window draperies as needed.
• Remove and rehang outside-window curtains and draperies using a ladder.
• Dust or damp-clean surfaces in resident rooms, including furniture, bed frames, and windowsills, according to center procedures, including using wet-floor signs.
• Move furniture to clean behind and underneath it according to center procedures.
• Turn bed mattresses after cleaning.
