About The Position

The Chateau of Long Beach, an assisted living facility serving the elderly community (ages 59+) in Long Beach, California, is seeking an entry-level housekeeper to assist residents and support the assisted living team. No prior housekeeping experience is required. The role includes laundry and cleaning duties, as well as preparing and presenting food and maintaining kitchen sanitation and food safety.

Requirements

• Able to clear the DOJ/FBI Live Scan criminal background clearance required by licensing.
• Able to pass pre-employment physical and TB test clearance.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of operating a laundry machine and dryer.

Nice To Haves

• Housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laundry schedule to thoroughly clean residents’ linens.
• Replenish supplies in laundry rooms and common areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the facility’s laundry room.
• Remove excess waste and replace plastic liners.
• Clean, scrub, polish, and sanitize surfaces, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors in common-area bathrooms.
• Attend monthly in-service meetings and employee training.
• Prepare, cook, and present food according to posted menus.
• Use established recipes and food production standards.
• Maintain food quality, appearance, and taste.
• Ensure proper kitchen sanitation and safe food handling.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and productive working environment.
• Complete food orders and ensure food levels are maintained.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Administration.
