About The Position

This is a temporary Housekeeper position at Atria Senior Living. The Housekeeper maintains the community interior, including residents’ apartments, in a clean and sanitary manner while interacting with residents and guests courteously and in a friendly manner. The role also includes serving residents meals and beverages, assisting with dining-area cleanup and setup, and performing other assigned duties as needed. The wage range is $17.00–$20.40 per hour, dependent on prior work history and experience.

Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with employees and residents.
General knowledge of sanitation and safe food-handling practices.
Ability to retain orders of up to four items at one time.
Strong organization and time-management skills.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Provide general housekeeping throughout the community and in individual resident apartments, including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning entryways, common areas, dining rooms, hallways, patios, and apartments.
Clean and defrost apartment refrigerators as needed, clean and check heating-system filters, change beds and linens, and ensure apartments have adequate linen supplies.
Turn mattresses with assistance as necessary and empty waste baskets.
Deep-clean apartments as needed.
Pay special attention to the main entry area, including carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures.
Wash and dry linens in the provided laundry facilities.
Follow company sanitation and safety procedures.
Greet residents and guests at tables and serve beverages, cereals, and/or soups and salads from a cart.
Review meal menus, take resident orders, and serve meals and desserts courteously and clearly.
Return the cart to the kitchen and assist with storing perishable items.
Deliver trays to resident rooms if needed.
Bus and clear dishes after meals and reset tables for the next meal, following food-service sanitizing procedures for tables and chairs.
Vacuum carpets and complete dining-service side work, such as filling sugar holders, replenishing creamers, and cleaning the coffeemaker.
Perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
