Requirements

  • Previous hospital or hotel housekeeping experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as on-going compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
  • All employees performing services for Florida affiliates are submitted through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse to verify eligibility after a conditional offer of employment is made as well as ongoing eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans patients’ rooms, nursing stations, family areas, and room/public areas in both administrative and inpatient buildings.
  • Cleans patients’ rooms, baths and shower room; nurses’ station and kitchen; offices, library, meditation room, staff bathroom, handicapped bathroom, public rooms, corridors, stairwell down to ground floor, and outside entrances.
  • Cleans administrative offices, cafeteria, restrooms, corridors and conference rooms.
  • Records completed jobs on work order form so that no task is omitted and so that the supervisor can easily check to see if a particular task has been done.
  • Maintains hard floors.
  • Mixes and dispenses solutions according to posted instructions to avoid accidents with hazardous materials.
  • Assists with cleaning of patient room as needed.
  • Immediately reports and documents all spills according to hazardous material (safety) guidelines and OSHA regulations to protect themselves, other staff, patients, and families from any potentially infectious or hazardous materials.
  • Attends mandatory safety program (annually).
  • Follows standard precautions unless otherwise indicated for isolation terminal cleaning and maintain infection control standards.
  • Attends mandatory infection control training (annually).
  • Reports inoperable, malfunctioning, equipment, or unsafe issues to the maintenance department.
  • As directed, cooperates with maintenance staff in deep cleaning of the facility.
  • Works cooperatively with other departments to accomplish goals.
  • Achieves expected productivity standard as defined by the organization and in alignment with best practices/the Capital Caring Health model.
  • Monitors and tracks the usage of supplies and materials in a responsible cost- effective manner.
